When you need an answer, ask the blackball.
blackball
Hold your question in mind. When you’re ready, reveal your answer.
Your question stays with you.
How it works
No question leaves your mind. No account stands between you and a moment of clarity.
- 01
Hold the question
Keep the decision private. You do not need to type it.
- 02
Ask the blackball
Pause, then reveal a piece of guidance.
- 03
Notice your reaction
Agreement, resistance, or relief may tell you more than the answer itself.
Not a prediction.
A perspective.
blackball does not predict the future or make decisions for you. It offers a carefully written prompt that helps you notice what you already think, feel, or need to examine.

Frequently asked questions
blackball is deliberately simple. Here is what happens—and what does not.
What is blackball?
A quiet decision-guidance tool. Hold a question in mind, reveal a concise prompt, and notice your reaction.
How does blackball choose an answer?
The backend normally selects from a curated library and records only an internal event UUID, answer ID, and server-generated timestamp. If unavailable, the browser selects locally; fallback draws are not recorded.
Do I need to enter my question?
No. Your question stays in your mind.
Is blackball using AI?
No. This release does not call an LLM or external AI service.
Can blackball make decisions for me?
No. Answers are prompts for reflection, not commands or predictions.
Can AI assistants use blackball?
Yes. A public Agent API lets an assistant draw a blackball prompt without sending the user’s question. The API returns the same curated style of answer and does not use an LLM to analyze the decision.
How is my privacy protected?
Your question is never entered, transmitted, or stored. A backend-issued draw records only an internal event UUID, answer ID, and server-generated timestamp; if the backend is unavailable, the local fallback is not recorded. A committed backend issue may exist even if a network failure prevents display. No account, personal profile, answer text, cookie, or referrer is included in the draw request. Hosting providers may retain standard operational request logs.
What are the terms of using blackball?
blackball offers prompts for reflection and entertainment. It does not provide medical, legal, financial, mental-health, or other professional advice, and it does not predict outcomes or make decisions for you. Use reliable information and qualified support for important decisions.
What accessibility support does blackball provide?
blackball is designed for keyboard and touch use, screen readers, and reduced-motion preferences. The introductory video can be skipped and its sound is optional. Controls use clear labels and the answer experience does not require entering a question.
Can I ask the same question more than once?
Yes. A second answer can help you notice whether your reaction is changing, but repetition should not replace judgment or new information.
